South Curl Curl Rock Pool

South Curl Curl Rock Pool

Stormy weather off Sydney’s coast has stirred the water on the Northern Beaches bringing a large swell with it.  I went down to South Curl Curl rock pool to get a few sunset shots but was unfortunately a bit late for the sunset. I got some shots of the waves swirling around the pool though in the fading light. The panorama is made up of 6 shots. The guys in the panorama were throwing themselves off the side of the pool and into passing waves to be swept off towards the beach.

Mountain Biking and Flashing

Mountain Biking and Flashing

With studying lighting at school I thought I should take my new found knowledge into the field. A friend, John Harbord, has been kind enough to volunteer his skills on a mountainbike. We took the show up to Oxford Falls in Sydney’s Northern Beaches area. Also met up with another friend, Josh a BMXer, at the nearby Freedom Jumps. The following is a few of the shots.

Five Dock

Five Dock

Jake, Five Dock, Sydney

I caught wind of a BMX jam going on this Saturday at the not-so-local Five Dock skate park. There was also a visit to Hell on Wheels in Newtown by then Triplesix Distribution team who are on a roadtrip. I missed the meet in the shop but caught up with some of the riders as they came to Five Dock for a sunset session. The guys hit the park bigtime with super smooth runs and big airs. They will be hanging around for the competition on Saturday. If the level of riding that I saw this evening is anything to go by it should be a great day on Saturday. I will definitely be getting myself over there and shooting plenty on the day. Continue reading →

Dirt Sessions

Dirt Sessions

Dirt Sessions, Sydney, Australia

Finally managed to link up with some guys hitting the dirt jumps on Sydney’s Northern Beaches and had a great day shooting with them. They had a bit of a jam session and invited me along to get a few shots. Around 30 people turned up at different stages throughout the day and a lot of riding done. Many thanks to Josh for giving me the heads up and thanks to all who were there and kind enough to let me shoot. Cheers guys. Continue reading →

Blue Mountains

Blue Mountains

For a change in scenery yesterday we decided to escape Sydney and head up into the Blue Mountains. Though they sit quite close to Sydney and can been seen from many places around the city I rarely seem to visit this beautiful area. This is something that I plan on rectifying over the next few weeks. Continue reading →

Dust storm, fire, earthquakes and a #1 world ranking

Dust storm, fire, earthquakes and a #1 world ranking

What a weird time it has been here of late in Australia. In the last 24hrs the Australia has experienced a massive dust storm, bushfires, 2 earthquakes, hail the size of cricket balls, a windstorm and a tornado. Not only that but just last week Australia ranked as world number one as worlds worst polluter per person. Dust storm blowing through the streets of Dee Why
