Fine Art Prints
All printing is handled by a local professional photographic print lab. Print sizes are based upon the long edge. Prints are watermark-free and include a one centimetre white border to help with the framing. After printing, your photographic print is personally inspected by myself to guarantee your chosen print is beautifully prepared and presented. It's then covered, rolled and packed into a hard cylinder tube to guarantee safe delivery. At present fine art prints are sent as print only so you may source the frame that best suits your home or office. Canvas can be sent in a roll or, like acrylic facemounts, can sent as finished products ready to hang in your home
The fine art prints are all printed on archival quality paper that has been selected to get the most out of the prints. Three versions are on offer, matte, semi-gloss and glossy.
- Edition Etching
Edition etching is a beautiful museum grade matte paper with the purest white tone available on the market. It offers deep blacks, excellent image sharpness and optimum colour graduation. The slight grain of this paper makes it ideal for printing detailed work. It's acid free and is designed to meet galleries and museum longevity requirements to ensure consistency of shades for generations.
- Pearl
Pearl is a semi-gloss photo paper that has a natural white tint to produce prints with excellent colour and high sharpness. The pearl surface eliminates glare and fingerprints giving the true look and feel of a photographic print.
- Metallic
The high contrast of the metallic paper offers exceptional image clarity and brilliant colour reproduction with deep blacks and high whites ensuring that each print truly comes to life and giving the image a rich depth. It is the base paper for use with the acrylic facemounting.
Acrylic Facemounts
With acrylic facemounts your print is mounted on a 6mm layer of clear acrylic. Aside from offering a level of protection acrylic face-mounting gives the prints a clean, polished, modern look. The acrylic enhances the contrast and colour saturation and, depending on the light, can give it an almost 3D look. A PVC backing is added for protection of the print. A hidden frame is added to the back to enable hanging of the print and to offset it slightly from the wall.
Other sizes are available on request. It is suggested that the larger acrylic facemounts be hung using the french cleat wall hanging system for a more secure installation due to their weight. More about the French Cleat system can be found here
Canvas Prints
Canvas prints are coated with an invisible polymer coating which creates a protective water-resistant surface and protects colours from fading. They have a matte finish which means very little glare.
Canvas prints can be ordered either stretched around a 30mm frame ready to hang or unstretched in a tube. Unstretched canvases are easier and cheaper to ship and are ready to be stretched by the framer of your choice.
Other sizes are available on request.
Sizing
Pricing is based upon the longest edge of the print. So a 60 x 40cm print is based on the 60cm edge. This will also be the same as a 60x20cm print due to the way the paper runs through the printers.
