The lighting course is over. I had a fantastic time and I learnt a huge amount. The majority of the course was focused upon studio lighting, how to set it all up and how to shoot with it. I had never done anything in this area before and it felt like a big hole in my knowledge. Over the course, I learnt about different lighting modifiers such as snoots, grids, softboxes and barn doors. Also how to enhance the shadows, restrict the light, create rim lights and bounce the light around as is needed. The course was very much a hands-on experience and has boosted my confidence no end. I would now feel comfortable walking into a studio and getting to work setting up different lighting scenarios. The course also touched upon product photography and food photography. on the last day, we had the chance to shoot with a model, Rose, who was just fantastic. It also made me realise that I still need a lot of practice in directing models. If anyone feels interested in offering up their modelling skills in order to let me practice please send me a message<\/a>. I would be very happy to get as much practice as possible.<\/p>\n

A big thanks goes out to Tom Luscombe for his wonderful work teaching us and being so patient with us. Also thanks also to everyone else in the class for making it such an enjoyable experience, I wish you all the best of luck with your future in photography. I would have no hesitation in recommending the course at the Australian Centre for Photography to those wishing to learn about studio lighting.
