Fes el Bali, June 2010

Fes el Bali, June 2010

This month’s calendar image is Morocco’s Imperial city of Fez, or more specifically Fes el Bali, the old walled medina of Fez. The shot was taken from the Merenid Tombs overlooking the old medina. Fez is one of my favourite cities for losing myself in. It is one of those cities where around every corner there seems [...]

Dust storm, fire, earthquakes and a #1 world ranking

Dust storm, fire, earthquakes and a #1 world ranking

What a weird time it has been here of late in Australia. In the last 24hrs the Australia has experienced a massive dust storm, bushfires, 2 earthquakes, hail the size of cricket balls, a windstorm and a tornado.

Out with the old…….but to where?

Heli-skiing, St Moritz

Heli-skiing, St Moritz

Last weekend was spent down in St Moritz skiing around  Corvatsch and heli-skiing on the border with Italy.  I was graciously invited to go on the trip in order to shoot with Martin "McFly" Winkler and Matthias Haunholder. The faces in this area are long and steep and these Martin and Matthias certainly stepped up [...]

Spring has sprung

Spring has sprung

Spring time has arrived in St Anton which means its back-country kicker time. The weather has been warm and our generous snow-pack from the season is disappearing rapidly. The warm slushy conditions has made for some great kicker sessions. The next few days are supposed to hold a bit of rain which means some downtime [...]

Coming Soon: Prints on canvas and paper

I have just spent the day in Kitzbühel talking with the owner of Kitzbüheler Fotowerkstatt, a printer who does some amazing work on both canvas and paper. I had never been too impressed with the quality of printing on canvas until I saw his work. The outcome of the day; a selection of my photos [...]

St. Anton Ski Opening Season 2008 – 2009

It’s been a busy weekend for me. I’ve been out shooting the Season Opening for the St. Anton Tourist board. There was a selection of workshops running covering things [...]

New Website for Sunset Point Resort

I have just about finished building a new website for my friends over at Sunset Point Resort in Puerto Escondido, Mexico. I still have to add some photos to fill out their galleries. Unfortunately I have never been there to see it so I don’t have any photos of my own which I can add. [...]

A new portrait for Nick Hayter.

Lately I have been bringing the athletes profiles up to date. Yesterday we had a little bit of a play around shooting a new portrait photograph for skier Nick Hayter. We were fortunate to have a few storm clouds building so we used these as a backdrop, set up the flashes and took a few [...]

Chalets

I have been shooting some chalets here in St. Anton for the English chalet companies. The photos are destined for the websites of the respective companies and for use on Ultimate-ski.com. I have only done a few hotels and chalets before so I still find them a challenge to shoot. Not my usual type of [...]
